General features. Contemporary history in nutshell.
The economy in USA has generally been strong. However, the worldwide crisis of capitalism reached in autumn 1998 also USA. The state of USA´s economy is depending on the state of the world capitalist economy.
USA is the on the average the richest country in the world. Yet a big part of the citizens live in misery.
USA suffers of lack of democracy. Americans realize the organizational crisis day by day better.
The trade unions in USA have in 1997 at the first time in the entire history of the Federation rised up political aspects. In November 1999 the chairman of AFO-CIO used in his statement hard words against the plans for free world trade planned by the capitalist organization WTO. Still more strong political statements by AFL-CIO in April 2000. "The IMF and the World Bank are the most destructive institutions in the world today." In May 2000 AFL-CIO used hard words against the USA-China free trade politics. Incredible... the US trade unions involveld in foreign politics. In January 2002 AFL-CIO condemned strongly arbitary arrestings and unlegal treatments against trade union leaders and activists in South Korea and also in other capitalist countries..
USA leads the world capitalism. They know at Wall Street that labil rates of stocks form a danger for capitalism. Strong stock rate changes have always preceded depression.
USA´s interest is also to lead efforts for worldwide economic stabilization even by using military power.
USA advices other countries to cut down their public economic sector. At the same time the national economy of USA is crucially based on a big public sector. The public enonomy consists mainly of military expences.
The unemployment has been manipulated by statistical means and by superlow wages. According to the American economists the unemployment has been pressed too down, of course by the means of extremely low wages. The wages in this richest country of the world are so low that a lot of people can afford their living only by having two jobs. Almost one third of the families live under the official level of poverty.
The Lord Mayor of New York stated some years ago in his speech that "we have lost an entire generation". He referred to the social circumstances in this rich big city where young lives are destroyed.
Crimes, drugs and the general attitude of indifferency ruin the basis of the American society. USA informs of begun a large operation against drugs. There is a serious contradiction. The drug business has become an important element of American national economy and in all statistics describing the economics.
USA is an one-party political oraganization. There are formally two parties, but there are no ideological differences between the parties. In the majority voting system minor parties do not have even theoretical possibilities to success. The political system of USA has nothing to do with democracy. Voting activity for instance in the Congress elections is usually under 30%.The elections are without signifigance. The system with its militarism is day by day more like Nazi-Germany which was based on similiar "democracy".
The governmental system of USA obeys the orders by the huge private corporations.
In the American sense the word democracy does not include any social human rights.The concept "human rights" has been used for different political aims. USA has used hard words among others against China in this respect.
The president of USA visited China in the end of June 1998. The main purpose for this visit was connected with the global problems of capitalism. At the same time USA intended to press China politically. Impression of the discussions shown in the Chinese TV was that the Chinese leaders and people mainly smiled.
American people use to count everything in money. The arrogant foreign politics of USA is based on the false belief that people everywhere in the world think the same way.
As the leading country of global capitalism USA intends to govern all the world and it tries to act like a world police with authorization granted to Americans by themselves. USA is the biggest producer, owner and user of mass destruction weapons. As such it forms a serious threat to all countries and nations. USA plans for remarkable increase of military budget. Why?
The weapons are for use. Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Panama, Nicaragua, Chile, Iraq, Grenada, Somalia, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq and so forth...
The minister of foreign affairs of USA Madeleine Albright has said that "Kosovo is a model of NATO´s future challenges".
Next target after Iraq, Iran, obviously, and then...?
NATO granted in April 1999 themself a right to operate outside its "own territory". It does not change anything. Anyway NATO has not respected other countries´ borders. NATO´s missiles have recently hitted arbitary targets except in Yugoslavia and Iraq also in Sudan and Afghanistan.
USA´s foreign politics is not based on diplomatics but on arms and violence. No wonder when taking a look at the country´s history. USA was established by killing the original inhabitants almost totally. Labour was shipped from Africa violently. Violence as a general phenomena, violent criminalism and counterviolence are the reality of today.
USA is widely hated by people around the world. American violence causes counterviolence which USA calls terrorism.
The level of American political cultur is not on the basis any kind of social knowledge but on the level sexual stupidities by the president of the country. No wonder that the "star wars" -program has been activated again in 1999. Even little green men will do when seeking for more profits for the arms industry.
In American universities there are no real social sciences. The level of social sciences can be described by an American professor-level opinion of the highest level of a human community. It is called "high mass consumption". Scientists in Europe and elsewhere in the world have laughed on this statement for long. In USA academic graduations and diplomas can be bought by money.
However, pressures for political changes can be seen in spite of the aims of the conservative American elite. In addition to ostensible critics also real political critics have risen.
There is a communist party is USA. New communist parties have been born on state levels. The socialist movement activated explosively in the end on nineties both in USA and in Canada.
The Marxist Workers´ World Party is rapidly developing to one of the most remarkable socialist parties in the world.
In 1999 an organization by name Workers Democracy Network has been established in USA in order to unite the fight for citizens´ rights.
Unlegal insprisonings and political trials belong to normal life in USA. Yet the western media is not at all interested for instance in Mumia Abu Jamal´s and Leonard Peltier´s death sentences. A worldwide movement to save these two men has born. In both cases accusations are faked.
In August 2000 demontrators against Mumia Abu-Jamal´s political process were arrested in Philadelphia. They have been tortured in the cells.
There are political prisoners in the US also because of foreign political reasons. People who have resisted the Viequez naval base have been arrested and kept imprisoned without legal proceedings.
At the same time with the rise of progressive powers the extreme fascists climb up from their hideaways. Ku Klux Klan on the streets of cities of USA make the picture of American nightmare complete.
The absurd attack under USA´s leadership on Yugoslavia diminished the respect for USA even in other capitalist countries. One practical consequence is the gradual disappearing of meaning of the criminal political-based commercial embargos settled by USA against Cuba and North Korea. USA is not able to control these embargos alone. The US does not either get world´s thanks for supporting criminal or separatist organizations like KLA in Yugoslavia and Falun Gong in China.
Nazis came to power in Germany by the support of the petty-bourgeoisie. The US militarism, aggressions and aims to conquer all the world have a similar starting point.
The American staffs of capitalism think the world to believe in their lies. In June 2000 the president of USA suggested his Russian colleague to arrange joined missile defense against "terrorist countries like North Korea". The high Russian political leadership did not even bother to answer to this kind of idiotism. In Russia and elsewere people realize widely that the real goals of American capitals quarters is in addition to govern all the world also to increase arms industry profits. Thus USA seeks for pretexts for arms race and starting wars.
In the presidential elections in November 2000 there was first time in the entire history of USA a candidate representing political left. The matter may not yet have big practical signifigance, but it reflects rise of political opposition. The two main candidates represented big money. The after the complicated process elected new president represents in the global capitalism the militant direction. This situation does not promise anything good neither to Americans nor to world´s peoples.
In 2001 USA started again building a large nuclear missile system. The real character of this system is aggressive, not defensive.
Both absolutly and relatively USA is the worst air polluter state in the wrold. In spring 2001 USA rejected the rest what has been left of the Kyoto climate and air talks.
USA has engineered through the UN commercial blockades around the world. Among others Cuba, north Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan have suffered because of that kind of coercions.
Because of the US arrogant and aggressive foreign politics especially in 1999 - 2008 many states have turned their back to American imperialism. Especially also west-European countries and enterprises exercise openly trade with the countries blocked by USA.
In spite of strong resistance all over the world USA made in 2002 it clear that it will not any more respect the 1972 ABM agreement.
In 2002 - 2008 world´s hate against the US arrogant foreign politics has become still more visible. At the same time the US world politics appears even more aggressive. Aggressive attitude may be a symptom of fear...
The US reaction on the attack in September 2001 was typically mediocre. Instead of investigating reasons and backgrounds of the incidents US president demands for revenge, whoever might be the target.
USA once more used armed forces. The US army has so far not been succesful in ground fights even in wars against small nations. American soldiers are more or less broilers. Even Pentagon knows that. The Chinese have for long spoken of "Paper Tiger".
After September 11th USA seems to be in an almost ungoverned situation. Political leaders try mostlty to find means to protect their personal interests. Countrie´s and citizens´ affairs are secondary.
The role of the US in the contemporary world situation is quite logical and easy to understand. The very origin of terrorism is the terror-type activities carried out by the US-led world capitalism. This form of terrorism comes back to the US in different ways. USA is the nest of terrorism. According to all criteria the US is absolutely and relatively the biggest developer, producer and user of all types of mass destruction weapons. Blaiming other countries on these issues is nothing but intentional false propaganda.
Non-governmental organizations observing the United Nations Biological Weapons Conference in Geneva in November 2001 are expressing increasing frustration over Washington's refusal to ratify measures on the control of this type of threat. Since the gathering began last Monday, US Undersecretary of State John Bolton has reiterated his country's refusal to agree to obligatory verification measures in the 1972 Biological Weapons Convention.
In December 2001 USA rejected in Geneve once more the crucial control clause of Biological Weapons Convention. At the same time USA threatens other countries on the basis of suspected possession of biological weapons.
The US and the UK decided in autumn 2001 to purchase new fighters for a sum which may be biggest ever paid for war machinery. This type of an act can mean only one thing. The Anglo-American capitalism intends to begin an imperialist war against all the world. "Fight against terrorism" has been heard as a pretext also in this connection. This logic does not work. That kind of weapons are by no means for hunting some scattered terrorist groups.
President Bush has signed an order that would allow for the trial of people accused of terrorism by a special military commission instead of civilian courts.
The US external and internal aggressions accelerated in 2002 - 2008. USA threatens actually all the world by war and by nuclear weapons. This absurdity has risen resistance movements all around the globe.
The US internal politics has suffered by scandals for decades. The last one is Bush´s connection to the Enron and its huge bankrupt. Among others also UK representatives of world capitalism have been involved in the Enron scandal.
The huge bankrupts and WorldCom-, Arthur Andersen- and Merck-scandals give an idea of a system about to collapse.
During George Bush Jr´s regime the US has destroyed the Kioto atmosphere agreement. USA endangers world stability and peace by building a new offensive missile system . Geneve agreement for biological warfare was shot down by the US. The work of the UN commission to resist racial discrimination has been stopped by USA while it defends Israeli Zionist aggression.
In May 2002 the US succedded to shut down establishing of a real International Criminal Court. At he same time, the US watered down the important UN childrens conference resolutions. In 2002 USA prevented the UN suggestion for an agreement to deny torture.
It is quite obvious that the US oil resources are diminishing. Efforts to attain all the world´s oil may cause world fire.

The elections in the U.S. in November 2002 were meaningless. There were no alternatives. In the majority voting system victory of one of the two big parties is self-evident. There are in USA two parties, which have had some idological differeneces long ago. Nowadays there is in practice only one party. It represents the capitalist ideology.
November, 2002. The sweeping re-organization of domestic US security, which the US Congress has just passed, has wide independent authorizations to control people. The American police state is soon ready.
Electing of a mediocre actor to govern California in October 2003 reflects the intellectual level of U.S. politics in general. According to a statement given in 2002 by Norwegian scientist Johan Galtung USA will be splitted within 15 years. With politicians like Bush and Schwarzenegger this view seems really likely.
US looses its friends continuously. The IMF, who has before been USA´s nice lackey, ciritisized strongly U.S. commercial politics on China. The IAEA, which has been a U.S. lackey alike, condemned the aggressive U.S. politics on Iran.
The U.S. economic "growth" from 2003 to 2007 appeared to be mainly a bubble. At the same time the amount of homeless and poor people increased. Politicians plan to criminalize homelessness.
The U.S. practice of torturing prisoners came to daylight in 2004. The government was obliged to try to apply explanations. However, here we have a traditonal American method, not only questions of Iraqi, Afghan or Guantanamo prisons. After all, obviously nothing will change. These awkward issues may likely be forgotten soon.
The presidential election show between Kerry and Bush in 2004 may end to victory of Kerry. However, the U.S. internal problems and external agressivity are permanent elements.
In July 2004 Bush began operation to postpone presidential elections on "emergency" basis. No success this time. In October 2004 Bush´s regime tried to make it uneasy for the Islamic citizens to registrate themselves as voters.
The massive demonstrations against Mr. Bush in New York in the trun of August-September 2004 are first such a phenomena in the entire hisotry of USA. That incident may mean beginning of collapse of the US state system.
October 2004. FBI shuts down 20 antiwar web sites: an unprecedented act of Internet censorship. Bye bye, American "freedom of speech".
Just before presidential elections a "tape by Osama bin Laden" was shown in USA. Obviously many Americans believed that the tape was a real one.
Victory of George W. Bush does actually not mean anything. The main problem, U.S. agresssive fight for oil and world dominance remains.
Yet there appeared strong symptoms of dishonest procedures in the elections. Ralph Nader asked how it is possible that in one certain voting point in Ohio 638 voters gave 4258 polls to Bush and 260 to Kerry...
In December 2004 USA destroyed in the international conference in Buenos Aires. world´s hope for life to continue on the earth by stopping implementation of the Kyoto climate agreement.
February 2005. The speech adressed to the Congress of USA by George W. Bush expressed symptoms of mental illness in his mind. While speaking of freedom of nations he threatened openly Syria and Iran by military options. This type of a contradictory way of thinking is possible only for a scizophfrenic person.
September 2005. Katrina distaster revealed to all the world the large U.S. poverty.
November 2006. Democrats won Congress elections. This turn does not necessarily change anything. The U.S. agressive foreign politics is more than one hundred years old phenomena. Bush´s absurd foreign politics continued in 2007.
September 2007. Bush had to reduce a bit the amount of troops in Iraq. Quite obviously this act was nothing more than a desperate effort to win time both in Iraq and Afghanistan. Even the CIA had unofficially reported that these wars are lost.

In February 2008 the U.S. state debt was more than nine trillion dollars. At the same time there was a threat of serious economic depression.
June 2008. The Democratic Party elected Obama party´s candidate in presidential elections. That incident did not mean anything in future U.S. politics.
September 2008. The U.S. was forced to give up its eternal principles and to save the monetary markets by governmental activities.
January 2009. Barack Obama took office in Washington. However, no guarantees of new politics.
